The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL for short) is an international organization for the central coordination of air traffic control in Europe. For the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC), an intranet solution was needed that enables the distribution of important internal messages and information and the integration of external services existing within the company.

PIIPE Workplace was deployed as an intranet solution with Sharepoint integration on premise in Eurocontrol’s data center. The MUAC intranet offers the possibility to publish news, information pages and events. Furthermore, it integrates external applications such as Sharepoint, the Controller Cockpit, as well as room and company car bookings.

A video management system was also integrated for secure hosting of videos, which can be used for various content formats after upload, e.g. as announcements published on the intranet.
The project included strategic consulting, design and development of the on premise intranet solution, administrator training, rollout assistance and ongoing support.

The project was implemented after an EU-wide tender in a period of 6 months from conception to go-live. Go Live was in November 2018 and regular updates ensure that the system is always up to date. NEOCOSMO maintains the solution via access to the Tier 3 security zone where develop, staging and production systems are hosted. Defined transport and security processes ensure smooth operation. Regular external penetration tests for both the product and the customized solution confirm highest reliability and data security.
