INKOMETA Award 2020

FESTO wins with WeNet and the NEOCOSMO platform in the “Social Intranet” category

In the Intranet & Digital Workplace category, Festo won the award for the best social intranet built on the PIIPE Workplace platform from NEOCOSMO.

The Intranet & Digital Workplace category is all about change. A Digital Workplace makes it possible to work and exchange information collaboratively and to use existing interfaces to corporate applications. As an internal organizational web portal, it is usually a further development of the intranet. The jury therefore focused on the strategic concept of digitization as well as media competence in the submissions.

According to the jury, the goal of a social intranet is to support networking. It should enable employee dialog, both top-down, bottom-up and side-to-side. Social functions such as commenting, liking or sharing, as well as personalization of content and chat, are in the foreground. The jury selected the social intranet project that best met these requirements. An important criterion was also that there was a measurable benefit and high acceptance.

Festo’s social intranet was implemented under the motto “For you – with you”. Since the end of November 2019, it has offered the personalized entry point into the digital working world at Festo worldwide: Here, the 21,600 employees* can find news from the company, information about departments, the colleague search, their sharepoints and business applications, as well as internal services.

Further winners were awarded in the categories Strategy, Campaigns, Media, as well as International Internal Communication. We congratulate Festo and are happy to be part of this success!

Frank Milius, Managing Director of NEOCOSMO, is delighted about the award: “We are proud, as a young company, to have Festo as a customer. Together we have created an intelligent communication platform that works excellently in everyday life. The award confirms the efforts and commitment of the Festo project team and NEOCOSMO employees.”

Over the past few months, the new system has more than proven its absolute necessity in terms of flexibility and (crisis) communication capabilities. The Corona pandemic has brought new and previously unknown challenges to light for many companies – not least for internal communications. The new WeNet was able to help communicate quickly and appropriately, giving employees a sense of security and an “up to date” feeling – embedded in a stable IT infrastructure and direct, digital exchange – across departments and countries.
